Innovative Assistants
Innovative Choreography is proud to invest in young, talented, dedicated dancers. Beginning in the summer of 2018, current high school sophomores and juniors in the Kansas City area were selected to be Innovative Assistants. These dancers have shown outstanding work ethic, leadership, and talent. We can't wait to watch them grow into amazing instructors!
Adya Burdick
Adya first began dancing at the age of three and fell in love with it. She began dancing competitively at the age of nine. Adya is trained in a variety of different styles including jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, and hip hop. Currently, she is on the Golden Girls Dance Team at Johnson County Community College. The Golden Girls are a nationally ranked team that competes every year at NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. Adya looks forward to sharing her passion and love for dance through being a part of the Innovative Family.
Clara Burdick
Clara first fell in love with dance at the age of three. She has been dancing ever since and competitively dancing since the age of seven. She is trained in many different styles like jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and pom. She is a competitive dancer at Starstruck Performing Arts Center, and she is on the Lancer Dancer Dance Team at Shawnee Mission East. She is so excited to be a part of the Innovative family!

Ashley Camp
Ashley discovered her love of dance at 3 years old. She currently dances at Starstruck Performing Arts Center and has been dancing competitively for 9 years. She is a senior at Blue Valley West and is part of the Crimson Cats Dance Team. She is looking forward to her fourth year dancing with Innovative!
Ella Clausius
Ella is a senior at Blue Valley West High School and is currently a member of the Crimson Cats Dance Team. She began her dance career with ballet at the Culture House, and later the Kansas City Ballet School, and now currently dances at Jody Phillips Dance Company. She has danced in styles such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, flamenco, modern, and hip hop. She is so excited for new opportunities, and to continue her love for dance!

Maya Edwards
Maya Edwards started dancing at Denise’s Dance Academy at the age of three and has danced there ever since! She is currently a senior at Blue Valley West where she is the captain of the Crimson Cats Dance Team. She trains in contemporary, jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, and pom, and she is very excited to share her love of dance through Innovative!
Alexa Frazier
Alexa’s love for dance started when she was four years old, and she has been dancing competitively since she was five. She is a member and captain of the Olathe North Varsity Eaglettes Dance Team while training at Perception Dance Company. She can’t wait to apply her passion for dance as an Innovative Assistant!

Elyse Hammel
Elyse started dancing at the young age of 3. Since then, she fell in love with it and hasn't stopped. Elyse is currently a junior at Blue Valley West High School and is a member of the varsity Crimson Cats Dance Team. She also serves as the State Captain. Elyse dances competitively at Priscilla and Dana's School of Dance. She currently trains in jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, and ballet. Her favorite style is jazz, and she can't wait to bring her passion to Innovative!

Alana Lewis
Alana fell in love with dance at the age of 6. She’s danced competitively and at a ballet conservatory for the past 10 years. She is a senior on the Blue Valley Southwest dance team. Alana can’t wait to pursue her love of dance more through the Innovative family!

Ellie Lim
Ellie began dancing at age three, competing since the age of eight. She trains at Denise's Dance Academy in Kansas City in the styles of contemporary, jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap, and hip hop. She loves performing with the Blue Valley North varsity high school dance team, where they recently placed 2nd at the NDA Nationals in large varsity jazz. She has taken many classes and camps from Innovative Choreography and is excited to be an assistant this year to help others grow in the art form and sport she loves. Ellie will be joining the Southern Methodist University Pom Squad next year!
Aubrey Lopeman
Aubrey fell in love with dance at the age of three. She started dancing competitively at age six. She is currently on the competitive team at Johnson County Dance Center (JCDC) and will be a junior at St. James Academy. She is very excited to be part of the Innovative family!

Sophia MacInnis
Sophia’s love and passion for dance began when she was two years old! Sophia dances competitively at Perception Dance Company. She is also on the St. James Academy sideline and competition teams. She is excited and honored to be an assistant for Innovative Choreography!

Ella Warden
Ella's passion for dance started when she was just 3 years old. She currently dances at Denise's Dance Academy and has been dancing competitively since she was 8 years old. Also, she is a member of the Sion Dance Team. Ella is excited to grow and share her love for dance through this experience with Innovative!
